Jazz musicians play jazz standards is very common in jazz, when different jazz musicians play same standard will have totally different style and interpretation.
The thsis transcribes three famous jazz pianist’s playing, including Oscar Peterson（1925-2007）, Michel Petrucciani（1962-1999）and Keith Jarrett（1945 -）,with comparing the music analysis and interpretation. Through this research topic, the analysis and comparison of the melody and improvisational styles of the three jazz pianists are summarized for readers.
The thesis consists of five chapters. The first chapter introduces the research motivation, purpose, scope and method of the research. The second chapter introduces "All The Things You Are" and the lives of the three pianists. The third chapter analyzes the style of the three pianists' melody on " All The Things You Are ". The fourth chapter will analyzes the improvisational style through the improvisational scores, analyze the melody lines and the use of improvisational materials. The fifth chapter is in conclusion.
It is hoped that it will become a rich and interesting research on modern jazz piano performance in Taiwan.
