The purpose of the study is to analyze the three-stage techniques among the world-leading male table tennis players who won gold medal and silver medal using 2021 World Table Tennis Championships as an example. The results will be provided as a reference to the domestic table tennis players, coaches, and amateurs for the arrangement of training and competition in the future. The study analyzes the seven matches of men’s singles in 2021 World Table Tennis Championships played by the world-leading male table tennis players who are the winners of gold medal and silver medal. The three-stage techniques analysis table for table tennis games is used as the research tool to carry out descriptive statistics on scoring rate and utilization rate based on various analytical data. Through the analysis of the three-stage techniques, researcher is able to implement diagnosis and evaluation on Zhen-Dong Fan and Truls Moregard. The outcome reveals the overall average performance from Zhen-Dong Fan in the four matches is (1) 66% for scoring rate in the stage in serving the ball to attack, indicating a good index value; 23% for
utilization rate in the stage in serving the ball to attack, which translates to a failed index value; (2) 61% for scoring rate in the stage in receiving the serve to attack, indicating an excellent index value; 32% for utilization rate in the stage in receiving the serve to attack, which translates to passing the index value; (3) 50% for scoring rate during the standoff stage, yielding a good index value; 45% for utilization rate during the standoff stage, which passes the index value. The outcome reveals the overall average performance from Truls Moregard in the four matches is (1) 65% for scoring rate in the stage in serving the ball to attack, indicating a good index value; 22% for utilization rate in the stage in serving the ball to attack, translating to a failed index value; (2) 47% for scoring rate in the stage in receiving the serve to attack, indicating a good index value; 30% for utilization rate in the stage in receiving the serve to attack, translating to a score which passes the index value; (3) 43% for scoring rate during standoff stage, indicating a failed index value; 43% for utilization rate during standoff stage, translating to a failed index value. The above results show male players require achieving a standard above good in each technical link so that they can achieve excellent performance in the international games. It is suggested coaches, player, and amateurs to focus on each technical detail during the training because it will be different to achieve excellent performance if there are too many flaws in technical details. We expect players to strengthen the flaws in their techniques so that they can achieve excellent performance in future international games and win the honor for the country.
