Aim:
This course designs to acquire the basic knowledge of Official Aramaic, the lingua franca of the Persian Empire (6th-3rd century BCE). It covers various official documents of Persian Empire’s chancery letters and document, which includes Book of Ezra
4:8–6:18 and 7:12–26 – quotations of documents from the 5th century BCE concerning the restoration and The Book of Daniel 2:4b–7:28 – five tales about Daniel and his friends and an apocalyptic vision.
