In 1984, Meiying Zhang graduated with honors, from Lu Xun Art Institute, China. She immediately began teaching in the Art Department at Shen Yang Teachers’ College. By 1996, she has achieved the status of assistant professor at the college. Because of her professional stature as an art teacher, in 1994 she was invited to join the China National Art Association. In the same year, Ms. Zhang was also named board member of the China Snow Villa Artist Association. In 1995, Meiying Zhang received the “Gardener” award from the Cultural and Education Ministries of China. This prestigious award is given each year to recognize the unique excellence and outstanding contribution of an artist.
Ms. Zhang moved to the United States in 1998 under the immigration Act for Individual with Outstanding Achievement. She established Meiying Art Studio in the bay year in the same year. She became a member of the Northern California Chinese Artists Association, and remains an active member ever since. In 2005, Ms. Zhang was invited to sit on the judge penal for CPAA International Youth Fine Art Contest. Among others she was also invited to judge 2017 Ranch 99 Market Annual Mother’s Day Art Contest.
