In recent years, the visibility of transgender individuals in society has notably increased. However, this heightened visibility doesn't necessarily indicate full understanding and acceptance. Unfortunately, transgender people's voices and knowledge often face systematic distortion or exclusion due to the pervasive influence of compulsory gender norms. Moreover, accurate information about transgender individuals tends to be overshadowed by stereotypes and persistent myths, which contribute to the prevalence of bias and discrimination against them. This, in turn, can result in gender-based violence and potentially influence legislative and national gender policies. This article seeks to employ a feminist perspective to define and deconstruct transgender myths through examining their various types, factual information, and underlying causes. By dismantling these myths and promoting accurate understanding, this article aims to foster greater public awareness and acceptance of transgender individuals.
