My new problem with Office 2010 is that babylon dictionary doesn't work neither on any

Office softwares, nor on Windows environment (I mean in windows explorer, notepad, files

and folders names, etc.)... it means that when i use the hotkey "ctrl+right click" (or

any other mouse activation hotkey that i define for babylon) on a word, the babylon

window doesn't appear. But it works fine with IE9 and pdf files.

The problem appeared after installing Office 2010 and consequent windows updates which include a huge amount of security updates of

Windows 7 as well as office softwares... I think new updates have done something in

windows registry which restrict third party applications like babylon from accessing any

text file on windows environment. Is there any idea about how can i detect the registry place

where these changes occurred ? or any other workaround to fix this problem ? thanks in

advance.

Where you ever been able to use Babylon dictionary with your office 2010?

Method: 1

You may repair Office 2010 using the link mentioned below and check if it works fine:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/repair-or-remove-office-2010-HA010357402.aspx

If the repair of Office 2010 does not help, you may post in Windows forum using the link mentioned below as the dictionary does not work with any Windows applications as well.

You may also check for help with the application provider.

Thanks for your kind attention. Well, I know that Word 2010 does not support babylon add-on as a plugin for translation inside Word environment. But that is not what I'm trying to handle. I just want babylon to pop up simply when I use "ctrl+right click" on a word to see the translation, just like web browsers and any other environment that includes texts.

I prefer to try any availabe fix to this problem before I completely uninstall and reinstall the whole software. I think I have to discuss my issue in Windows forum as you suggested . Because it seems to be a general Windows issue, not just Office.

Again thanks for your precise advice. best regards.
