活了一百万次的猫

有一只猫，它活了一百万次，也死了一百万次，但它从未喜欢过任何人。

Once upon a time, there was a cat who lived a million times and died a million times.But he never like any person.

一次，猫是国王的猫。国王很喜欢猫，把它放进一个特制的笼子。国王打仗时也一直带着猫。但猫不快乐。

Once, the cat belonged to a King.The king like him very much, he made a splendid cage and put the cat into it. When the king went to war,he always took the cat with him. But the cat was unhappy.

一天，猫被一支箭意外射中，死了。混乱的战场里，国王抱着猫，大哭。猫没有哭，它不喜欢国王。

One day, a stray arrow hit the cat and he died. Right in the middle of battle, the King held the cat and cried. But the cat did not cry. He did not like the king.

一次，猫是渔夫的猫。渔夫喜欢猫。每次捕鱼，都会带着猫。但猫仍旧不快乐。

Once, the cat was a fishman's cat. The fishman like the cat. Every time the fishman went fishing, he always took the cat with him. But the cat was still unhappy.

一天，猫掉入水中，猫没有游泳。渔夫赶紧网捞起猫，但猫已经溺死了。渔夫抱着猫呜呜地痛哭。但猫没有哭，它不喜欢渔夫。

One day, the cat fell off the boat.The cat could not swim.The fishman hurriedly scooped up the cat with his net,but the cat was soaked and dead.The fishman embraced the cat and wailed in a loud voice.But the cat didn't cry,he did not like the fishman.

一次，猫是马戏团魔术师的猫。魔术师喜欢表演将猫放进盒子，用锯子将猫一锯两半的魔术。之后，他取出猫，仍是完整的。猫不快乐。

Once, the cat was of a magician in a circus. The magician like to Perform a magic in which he put the cat inside a box and cut him in half with a saw. Then, he removed the cat, still in one piece. But the cat was still unhappy.

一天，魔术师失误，真的将猫锯成了两半，猫死了。魔术师一手托着猫的一段身体，低声哀嚎。但猫没有哭，它不喜欢马戏团。

One day, the magician made a mistake, and really cut the cat in half, the cat died. The magician wailed in a loud voice,holding the two parts of the cat in each hand. But the cat did not cry. He did not like the circus.

一次，猫是窃贼的猫。猫讨厌窃贼。窃贼总是带着猫行窃。当狗追着猫吠时，窃贼去开保险箱。

Once, the cat was a burglar's cat. The cat hated burglars. The burglar always stole with the cat. While the dog was barking at the cat,The burglar opened the safes.

一天，猫被狗咬死了。窃贼抱着猫和他偷来的钻石，在深夜的街道上边走边放声大哭。猫没有哭，它不喜欢窃贼。

One day, the cat was bitten to death by the dog. The burglar embraced the cat with the diamonds he stole, and walked through the night town wailing in a loud voice. But the cat did not cry, he did not like the burglar.

一次，猫是孤独老婆婆的猫。猫很不快乐。老婆婆每天抱着猫，通过一扇小窗户看世界。猫整天躺在老婆婆的腿上睡觉。一天一天，一年一年的。

Once, the cat was of a lonely grandmother. The cat was so unhappy.The grandmother looked outside every day from a small window, holding the cat in her arms. The cat was asleep all day on top of the grandmother's lap. Time passed, day and day, year and year.

一天，老婆婆怀里的猫一动也不动，猫老死了。伤心的老婆婆抱着猫哭了一整天。而猫没哭，它不喜欢老婆婆。

And the cat did not move any more in the grandma's arms, he died of old age. The frail grandmother embraced the dead cat, and cried all day. But the cat did not cry, he did not like the grandma.

一次，猫是小女孩的恶猫。猫讨厌小女孩。小女孩哭时，在猫的背上擦眼泪。

一天，小女孩背着猫，固定猫的背带缠在了猫的脖子上，猫被勒死了。小女孩举着脖子耷拉的猫，哭了整整一天。

The cat did not care the death any longer.猫不再在乎死亡了。

一次，猫不再是别人的猫，它是一只野良猫。猫第一次成为了自己的猫。

Once, the cat wasn't anyone's cat.He was a stray cat.The cat was able to be his own cat for the first time.

猫超喜欢自己。它有着漂亮的虎斑纹，一只漂亮的野良猫。

The cat loved himself very much. Since he was a great tiger-striped cat. He became a great stray cat.

所有的母猫都想成为它的另一半。有给它送大鱼干的，有给它肥美老鼠的，有给它稀有猫薄荷草的，有为它舔虎斑纹的。

All the female cats wanted to be the cat's wife. There were cats that gave him huge fish. Some cats gave him premium mice, some cats brought rare catnip as a gift, some cats licked his tiger fur for him.

猫对它们说——“我可是死过一百万次的。你们都太可笑了！”猫比谁都更喜欢自己。

The cat said to all of them—"I've died a million times! This is so ridiculous now!" The cat loved himself more than anyone else.

但只有一只漂亮的白猫，看都不看它一眼。猫走到白猫身边，生气地告诉它，“我死了一百万次呢！”

白猫“哦”了一声，别过头去。猫有点儿失望，因为它那么喜欢自己。

But there was just one beautiful white cat who didn't even look at the cat. The cat went over next to the white cat, and told her angrily, "I died a million times!"

The white cat just said, "Oh." then turn over.The cat became slightly upset, since he loved himself.

第二天，包括以后的日子，猫都会到白猫跟前，告诉它，“我可是活了一百万次的猫。你连一次还没活完呢。”

白猫都只简单地说，“哦。”然后转过头去。

The next day, and the day after that, whenever the cat went over to the white cat, he told her, "I am a cat live one million times. You haven't even finished one life."

The white cat just said, "Oh." then turn his head over.

猫有点儿心烦意乱。一天，猫在白猫眼前，做了三个空翻，说，“我曾经是一只马戏团的猫喔。”

白猫也只“哦”了一下。

The cat became slightly upset.One day, the cat did three somersaults in front of the white cat,and said, "I once was a cat for a circus."

The white cat just said, "Oh."

猫继续说，“我已经活过一百万——” 突然，它问白猫，“我可以待在你身边吗？”

白猫轻轻地点头，“嗯”。猫感到很开心、很快乐。

The cat started to say, "I have had a million—"Then asked the white cat, "Can I be at your side?"

The white cat nod gently and said, "Yes." The cat feel very very pleasant.

它们每天都待在一起。☀

Every day they stayed together.

白猫生了很多可爱的小猫。猫再也不说，“我可是活了一百万——”猫爱白猫和小猫们，已经超过了自己。

The white cat had many cute kittens. The cat no longer dared to say "I have had a million—". The cat loved the white cat and all the kittens. Even more than himself.

时光匆匆，小猫们长大了，都离开了。猫满足地说，“它们都长成了很棒的野良猫呢。”

白猫说，“嗯。”喉咙里发出轻柔地咕噜声。它已经做奶奶啦。

猫也发出更加温柔地咕噜咕噜声。它希望永远都和白猫在一起。

As time passed, the kittens grew up and all went away. The cat, satisfied, said, "They became great stray cats now." The white cat said, "Yes," and softly purred her throat. The white cat had become a grandmother cat. The cat purred his throat even more softly. The wish to live forever with the white cat.

白猫越来越老了，猫细心地照顾着它。每天它都会抱着白猫给它讲故事，直到白猫睡着。

一天，白猫静静地躺在猫的身边，没了呼吸。

The white cat became old. The cat take care of white cat carefully. Every day he told story to her in his arm until she is asleep.One day, the white cat quietly stopped moving next to the cat.

猫第一次哭了。从日出哭到日落，又从日落哭到日出。猫哭了一百万次。

日出，日落——

一个中午，猫停止了哭泣。它躺在白猫身边，静静地，一动不动了。

The cat cried for the first time in his life.Night came, morning came,Night came again, and morning came again.The cat cried a million times.Morning came, night came—

and at one noon, the cat stopped crying.The cat, next to the white cat, quietly stopped moving.

♡猫不再重生。

The cat never came back to life again.
